Abstract
Tato bakalářská práce je zaměřená na ratingový způsob hodnocení vytvořený Arpadem Elem a popisuje jeho zavedení pro původní účel, totiž hodnocení výkonnosti šachistů. Důraz je kladený zejména na matematický význam a interpretaci jednotlivých prvků elo systému. Pozornost je věnována i řádnému odvození tabulek používaných Mezinárodní šachovou federací pro potřeby administrace elo systému. V praktické části jsou na základě statistického rozboru výsledků reálných turnajů z roku 2019 zkoumány základní vlastnosti použití elo systému v šachovém prostředí. Jde hlavně o spolehlivost elo systému v závislosti na síle hodnocených hráčů, o kvantifikaci výhody bílých figur a o výskyt remíz.
This bachelor thesis is focused on the rating system created by Arpad Elo and describes its use for the original purpose, namely the evaluation of the strength of chess players. Emphasis is put on mathematical meaning and interpretation of components of the Elo system. Tables used by the World Chess Federation for the administration of the Elo system are properly derived in the text. Finally, there are described some fundamental properties of the implementation of the Elo system in chess, such as general reliability of the Elo system in dependence on strength of evaluated chess players, quantification of white pieces advantage or incidence of draws. These properties are analyzed with statistical methods using the results of real tournaments in 2019.
