Abstract
Diplomová práce se zaměřuje na roli otce v současné společnosti. Prostřednictvím konstruktivistického přístupu k termínům sociální role a gender dokládá možnost proměn podob otcovství. Popisuje koncept rodičovství a vliv genderových stereotypů na role rodičů. Práce se kromě historické role otce především zabývá dvěma protikladnými koncepty současného otcovství - novým a nepřítomným otcem. V souvislosti s novým otcovstvím sleduje, jak moc se k němu dnešní otcové přibližují a co jim v jeho naplňování brání. Dále charakterizuje muže na rodičovské dovolené. U nepřítomného otcovství se zaměřuje na otce po rodičovském rozchodu a objasňuje příčiny a kontext jejich života. Závěrem nastiňuje možnosti plurality podob otcovské role.
The thesis focuses on the role of father in contemporary society. Through a constructivist approach to the terms social role and gender it demonstrates the possibility of changing the father's role. It describes the concept of parenthood and the influence of gender stereotypes on parental roles. In addition to historical changes of father's role, the thesis mainly describes two opposing concepts of contemporary fatherhood - new and absent father. It focuses on the approach of contemporary fathers to the new fatherhood and it tracks obstacles they face. It also describes men on parental leave. In the context of absent fathers, the thesis focuses on fathers after parental separation. It characterizes the life of these men and explains why they are in this situation. Finally, it outlines the possibilities of plurality of father's roles.
