dc.description.abstractSamuel P. Huntington’s famous book, “The Clash of Civilizations”, has evoked controversy since it was first published. Many authors have referred to this work in a different way: some have taken it as a paradigm, some regarded it as a theory, others (including Huntington himself) as a hypothetical scenario of a possible future. If scientific theory is a mark of objective knowledge, the question of whether scientific theory, a metaphysical narrative without conclusive evidence in practice, or a mere cluster of impressions, opinions, and perceptions of the author, is a cardinal meaning for determining how to handle a particular product of scientific thought . The aim of this article is to justify the fact that the objectivity of the idea of the clash of civilizations cannot be overestimated, because Popper’s methodology of science is a well-written metaphysical narrative that nevertheless generates new provocative and bold hypotheses with the potential to become a scientific theory.en
dc.description.abstractDas berühmte Buch von Samuel P. Huntington „Kampf der Kulturen“ erregte von Anfang an Kontroversen. Vielen Autoren haben auf dieses Buch auf unterschiedliche Weise Bezug genommen: Einige haben es als Paradigma angenommen, einige haben es für Theorie gehalten, andere (samt Huntington selbst) hingegen eher als ein hypothetisches Szenario für mögliche „Zukünfte“ angesehen. Sollte eine wissenschaftliche Theorie Basis für eine objektive Erkenntnis sein, ist für die Bestimmung der Herangehensweise an das bestimmte Produkt des wissenschaftlichen Denkens vom höchsten Belang, ob es sich um eine wissenschaftliche Theorie, eine metaphysische Erzählung ohne belegbare praxisbezogene Beweise oder bloß um eine lose Anhäufung von Ansichten, Eindrücken und Überlegungen des Autors handelt. Im vorliegenden Text wird daher das Ziel verfolgt, unter Anwendung von Poppers "Rasiermesser" eine Begründung für die These zu finden, dass die Objektiviertheit der Auffassung vom Clash der Zivilisationen nicht zu überschätzen sei, da es sich hier ganz in der Tradition Poppers Methodologie der Wissenschaft um eine wohlgeschriebene metaphysische Erzählung handele, die nichtdestotrotz neue provokante und kühne Hypothesen ins Leben zu rufen vermag, welche das Potenzial besitzen, sich zu einer wissenschaftlichen Theorie zu entwickeln.de
dc.description.abstractSlavná kniha Samuela P. Huntingtona „Střet civilizací“ vzbuzovala hned od počátku plno kontroverzí. Mnozí autoři se k tomuto dílu vztahovali různě: někteří ji brali jako paradigma, někteří ji považovali za teorii, jiní (vč. samého Huntingtona) za hypotetický scénář možné budoucnosti. Je-li vědecká teorie známkou objektivního poznání, má otázka, zda se jedná o vědeckou teorii, metafyzické vyprávění bez průkazných důkazů v praxi, anebo pouhý shluk dojmů, názorů a postřehů autora, kardinální význam pro určení toho, jak s určitým produktem vědeckého myšlení zacházet. Cílem tohoto článku je zdůvodnění toho, že objektivnost ideje střetu civilizací nelze přeceňovat, protože se v tradici Popperovy metodologie vědy jedná o dobře napsané metafyzické vyprávění, které nicméně dokáže generovat nové, provokativní a smělé hypotézy s potenciálem stát se vědeckou teorií.cs
dc.description.abstractSłynna książka Samuela P. Huntingtona pt. „Zderzenie cywilizacji” wzbudzała wiele kontrowersji już w momencie jej wydania. Wielu autorów miało odmienne zdania na temat tego dzieła: niektórzy uznali je za paradygmat, inni jedynie za teorię, inni (w tym sam Huntington) uznali je za hipotetyczny scenariusz możliwej przyszłości. Jeżeli teoria naukowa odzwierciedla obiektywny stan wiedzy, pytanie, czy jest to teoria naukowa, metafizyczna narracja bez namacalnych praktycznych dowodów, czy tylko zespół wrażeń, opinii i obserwacji autora, ma kardynalne znaczenie dla wskazania sposobu traktowania swego rodzaju produktu myśli naukowej. Celem niniejszego artykułu jest udowodnienie, że obiektywizm idei zderzenia cywilizacji nie może być traktowany zbyt poważnie, ponieważ zgodnie z metodologią nauki Poppera, jest to dobrze napisana metafizyczna narracja, nasuwająca jednakże nowe, prowokacyjne i śmiałe hipotezy, które mogą potencjalnie przerodzić się w teorię naukową.pl
