Abstract
Diplomová práce zkoumá ekonomické postavení států uskupení BRICS, stejně jako životaschopnost uskupení samotného. Snaží se separovat státy uskupení do tzv. emerging countries, tedy vynořujících se ekonomik, jelikož tradiční rozdělení států na Rozvojové a Rozvinuté přestává stačit. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části, a sice teoretickou a praktickou. V rámci teoretické části je zanalyzován vývoj uskupení BRICS. V poslední kapitole teoretické části je zachycena teorie determinantů rozvoje hospodářství, resp. celého národa. Čistě výkonnostní agregáty, ačkoliv stále hrají nejvýznamnější roli, nereflektují rozvoj státu jako celku, neboť přehlíží faktory sociální, ekologické apod. V praktické části jsou za pomocí nejvýznačnějších makroekonomických ukazatelů zachyceny změny v ekonomickém postavení státu BRICS v příznačném pořadí Brazílie, Rusko, Indie, Čína a Jihoafrická republika. Data jsou získaná z databáze Světové banky. Závěr práce shrnuje nejdůležitější zjištěné poznatky.
The diploma thesis examines the economic position of the BRICS countries, as well as the viability of the group itself. It is trying to separate the states of BRICS into so-called emerging economies since the traditional division of states into the Developing and Developed ones is no longer sufficient. The thesis is divided into two parts, theoretical and practical. Within the theoretical part, the evolution of the BRICS group is analyzed. In the last chapter of the theoretical part, the theory of determinants of economic development is depicted. The pure performance aggregates, although still playing the most important role, do not reflect the development of the state as a whole because it overlooks social, environmental factors, etc. The practical part is meant to detect changes in the economic position of the BRICS countries withing the world regions and within the whole world aswell. The data are obtained from the World Bank database. The conclusion summarizes the most important findings.
