Abstract
Ziel dieser Bachelorarbeit ist es, durch die Gegenüberstellung eines Texts in zwei unterschiedlichen historischen Fassungen sprachliche Unterschiede zwi-schen der frühneuhochdeutschen und der modernen neuhochdeutschen Schrift-sprache herauszuarbeiten. Im Mittelpunkt stehen dabei einer der wichtigsten Texte der deutschen Sprachgeschichte, Martin Luthers Übertragung des Neuen Testaments von 1523, und eine moderne Ausgabe der Lutherbibel. Die Arbeit geht exemplarisch vor, indem sie den Vergleich auf ausgewählte Teile des umfangreichen Gesamttexts beschränkt. Die sprachliche Untersuchung wird auf den linguistischen Ebenen von Phonologie, Graphematik, Morphologie und Syntax sowie von Lexik/Idiomatik durchgeführt.
Die Untersuchung umfasst zwei Hauptteile. Im ersten geht es um die Hinter-gründe der späteren Analyse: Einführung in wesentliche Aspekte der frühneu-hochdeutschen Schriftsprache, Luthers Übersetzung des Neuen Testaments, ihre Geschichte und historische Bedeutung. Im zweiten Hauptteil der Arbeit werden dann jeweils zwei Fassungen ausgewählter Textstellen einander ge-genübergestellt und hinsichtlich ihrer sprachlichen Unterschiede und Gemein-samkeiten miteinander verglichen.
The aim of this bachelor's thesis is to identify and analyze linguistic differen-ces between Early New High German and modern New High German written language by comparing a text in two different historical versions. The focus is on one of the most significant texts in German language history, Martin Luther's adaptation of the New Testament from 1523, and a modern edition of the Luther Bible. The analysis adopts an exemplary approach by limiting the comparison to selected parts of the extensive overall text. The linguistic exa-mination is conducted on the levels of phonology, graphematics, morphology, syntax, as well as lexis/idiomatic expressions. The investigation consists of two main parts. The first part addresses the ba-ckground of the subsequent analysis: an introduction to essential aspects of the Early New High German written language, Luther's adaptation of the New Tes-tament, its history, and historical significance. In the second main part of the thesis, two versions of selected text passages are compared to identify and analyze their linguistic differences and similarities.
