Abstract
Tato práce analyzuje diskurzivních strategií, narativů a performativních konstrukcí rolí prezidentských kandidátů v rámci volebních debat v České republice v letech 2018 a 2023. Výzkum se opírá o koncept sekuritizace, který umožňuje identifikovat a hodnotit způsoby, jakými kandidáti tematizovali bezpečnostní otázky, jako jsou migrace a válka na Ukrajině. V teoretické části práce je vymezen koncept symbolické konstrukce bezpečnostních hrozeb a jeho aplikace na politický diskurz. V analytické části jsou zkoumány narativní a diskurzivní strategie jednotlivých. Závěry práce naznačují, že úspěch sekuritizačních či desekuritizačních strategií úzce souvisí s jejich přizpůsobením společenským náladám a očekáváním prezidentské role. Výsledky přispívají k širšímu porozumění vztahu mezi politickým diskurzem, mediálním kontextem a veřejným míněním.
This thesis analyses discursive strategies, narratives, and performative constructions employed by presidential candidates during electoral debates in the Czech Republic in 2018 and 2023. The research is based on the concept of securitization, which facilitates the identification and evaluation of how candidates addressed security issues, such as migration and the war in Ukraine. The theoretical part defines the concept of symbolic construction of security threats and its application to political discourse. The analytical part examines the narrative and discourse strategies of individual candidates. The conclusions suggest that the success of securitization or desecuritization strategies is closely tied to their alignment with societal sentiments and expectations of the presidential role. The findings contribute to a broader understanding of the relationship between political discourse, media context, and public opinion.
