dc.description.abstract	Hrad Veliš byl centrem velišského panství, které bylo rozprostřeno v okolí Jičínské kotliny. Majiteli velišského panství byly přední české šlechtické rody Vartenberkové, Trčkové z Lípy, Valdštejnové a Šlikové. Hrad byl dominantou v celé Jičínské kotlině a tvořil součást linie hradů, které střežily obchodní stezku. Veliš patřil k předním hradům na českém území a k nejdůležitějším ve východních Čechách. Historie hradu sahá na přelom 13. a 14. století. Hrad nikdy nebyl dobyt a to bylo jedním z důvodů proč bylo císařským nařízením rozhodnuto o jeho zbourání, které se uskutečnilo roku 1659. Zbytky hradu byly definitivně zničeny při těžbě čediče na přelomu 19. a 20. století.	cs
dc.description.abstract	Castle Velis was the centre of The Velis manor, which was situated around Jicin basin. The owners of The Valis manor were leading czech noble families like Vartenberks, Trczka, Valdstein and Schlick. The castle was the dominant in the entire Jicin basin and formed part of a line of castles that guarded the trade route. Velis was one of the leading castles on the Czech territory and was one of the most important castles in eastern Bohemia. The history of the castle dates back to the turn of the 13th and 14 th centuries. The castle was never captured and that was one of the reasons why it was decided by the imperial decreee that the castle would be demolished in 1659. The ruins of the castle were definitively destroyed during the mining of basalt at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries.	en
