Abstract
Hlavním předmětem zájmu diplomové práce je spor označovaný jako turówská krize, který byl vyvolaný rozhodnutím polských autorit pokračovat v provozu a těžbě uhlí v energetickém komplexu Turów a který získal pozornost díky svým dopadům na životní prostředí na sousední pohraniční německé a české oblasti.
Práce je rozdělena do čtyř základních tematických celků, jež na sebe navazují. Teoretický kontext je tak věnován problematice konfliktu, včetně jeho zaměření na konflikty o přírodní zdroje a konflikty o hranice, na komplexní charakteristiku studovaného regionu se zájmem o podrobné fyzickogeografické a socioekonomické aspekty německého, českého a polského pohraničí a v neposlední řadě na samotný energetický komplex Turów včetně jeho vývoje a vlivů na životní prostředí. Na téma komplexu pak volně navazuje kapitola turówské krize, jež je rozdělena na její česko-polský a německo-polský kontext. Druhý zmíněný, jež je předmětem výzkumu diplomové práce, pak za pomoci mediální analýzy, polostrukturovaného rozhovoru a dotazníkového šetření, analyzuje vývoj sporu a roli hlavních aktérů či neziskových organizací v jejím řešení, pohled obyvatel německého pohraničí na těžební činnost i samotný konflikt a v neposlední řadě vliv na přeshraniční spolupráci v regionu.
The main focus of the thesis is the dispute referred to as the Turów crisis, which was triggered by the decision of the Polish authorities to continue the operation and coal mining in the Turów energy complex and which gained attention due to its environmental impact on the neighbouring German and Czech border areas. The thesis is divided into four main thematic units, which build on each other. Thus, the theoretical context is devoted to the issue of conflict, including its focus on conflicts over natural resources and conflicts over borders; to the complex characteristics of the region under study, with an interest in the detailed physical-geographical and socio-economic aspects of the German, Czech and Polish borderlands; and last but not least, to the Turów energy complex itself, including its development and environmental impacts. The topic of the complex is then loosely followed by a chapter on the Turów crisis, which is divided into its Czech-Polish and German-Polish contexts. The latter, which is the subject of the thesis research, analyses the development of the dispute and the role of the main actors or NGOs in its resolution, the view of the German border region inhabitants on the mining activity and the conflict itself, and last but not least the impact on cross-border cooperation in the region, using media analysis, semi-structured interviews and a questionnaire survey.
