Abstract
This diploma thesis focuses on the application of thin layers in medicine. The theoretical part describes the materials used in medicine and deals with the question of biocompatibility. Several types of thin films used in medicine are described, along with thin film deposition methods. One of the thin film evaluation methods, namely SEM, is mentioned. Finally, the interactions of bacteria with nanoscale surface are described. The experimental part focuses on the interaction of bacteria with thin TiCN layer deposited on different parameters. Two types of bacteria were used for this work: Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus. Finally, the leachability of these layers was measured. That is, determining whether the ions of the substrate are released over the layer and, if so, in what quantities. Tribological analysis of the thin films was also performed. The least colonized sample was sample 1 (C2H2/N2 - 20/160 sccm, -40 V, 85 A). This sample also scored best in the leachability test and had the smallest coefficient of friction
