Abstract
Cílem práce je charakterizovat kulturní vývoj masky na území evropského kontinentu. Práce se zaměřuje na masku z hlediska kulturního významu v jednotlivých historických etapách od pravěku až po současnost. Je popsán vztah masky a lidské psychiky, její vnímání v jednotlivých dějinných etapách a způsoby jejího využití.Práce vymezuje základní pojmy související s tématem a nastiňuje symboliku a historický vývoj masky. Důraz je kladen na roli člověka jako hlavního faktoru, jako tvůrce i uživatele tohoto kulturního fenoménu.
The aim of the diploma thesis is to characterize the cultural development of the mask phenomena in the Continental Europe. The thesis is focused on the mask and its cultural sygnificance in particular historical stages from Prehistory to the Present. The relation between the mask and the human psyche is described such as its perception in particular historical stages and the methods of use. Diploma thesis defines basic concepts related to the topic and it foreshadows the symbolism and the historical development of the mask. The emphasis is laid on the role of the human as a main factor, as a creator and also as a user of this cultural phenomenon.
