Abstract
Pohřební rituály i kultura prošly dlouhou historií a dlouhým vývojem. V současnosti ale zájem o funerální kulturu upadá a téma konce života je odsouváno na okraj společenských témat. Práce se proto poukazuje na umělecké možnosti funerálního kultury, jež by zabránily její devalvaci. K tomuto účelu si vybírám pohřební oděv, rubáš, a hledám pro něj novou, obřadní, vizuální formu. Čerpám z bohaté historie funerálních tradic, jež byly v západní kultuře ve velké míře zapomenuty. Výsledkem je univerzální oděv, nezávislý na víře jedince, a s ním spojený rituál.
The burial rites and culture have undergone a great evolution in their history. However, the interest in the funeral culture declines and the social issue of the end of life is marginalized. My work therefore highlights the artistic possibilities of the funereal culture that would prevent its devaluation.For this purpose, I chose a burial cloth, a shroud, and I'm looking for its new, ceremonial, visual form. It draws from a rich history of funeral traditions that have been largely forgotten in the Western culture. As the result there is a versatile garment, independent of the faith of the individual, and the associated ritual.
