Abstract
V posledních letech se stále více hovoří o diabetu jako o epidemicky se šířící hrozbě západní civilizace. Podle posledních statistik, které jsou k dispozici, přesahuje počet nemocných cukrovkou v celé České republice 841 tisíc, z toho zhruba 91 procent tvoří pacienti s diabetem mellitem 2. typu (Jirkovská, 2014). Největší záchyt pacientů s diabetem mellitem 2. typu je v ordinacích praktického lékaře. Velikou roli v edukaci hraje všeobecná sestra. Cílem edukace je motivace pacienta ke změně životního stylu a návyků. Edukace je nezbytnou a nenahraditelnou součástí úspěšné léčby nemocného s diabetem mellitem 2. typu, protože vlastní kompenzace spočívá z velké části na pacientovi samotném.
The Theoretical Bases Diabetes mellitus is the epidemic spreading public menace in the last time. The number of patients suffering from diabetes mellitus is over 841 thousand in the Czech Republic according to the last statistical data. About 91 percent od these patients are patients with diabetes mellitus type 2 (Jirkovská, 2014). The patients with the diabetes mellitus type 2 are mostly diagnosed by the general practitioners. Nurses of general practitioners are very important for education of the patients. The main goal of this education is to motivate the patient to change his lifestyle and his habits. The well done education is an essential integral part of the succesful treatment, because the real compensation of the diabetes mellitus is based on patient himself.
