Abstract
Tato práce se zaměřuje na roli politika Michaila Gorbačova v posledních letech existence Sovětského svazu, s cílem analyzovat, do jaké míry byl zánik této velmoci ovlivněn jeho činy. Jádrem práce tedy bude období asi 6 let od Gorbačovova nástupu do vrcholné sovětské mocenské pozice (březen 1985) do jeho odchodu z funkce prezidenta Sovětského svazu (prosinec 1991). První části práce se zaměří na mezinárodní a ekonomickou situaci zmíněného období, ve druhé části pak na Gorbačovovy snahy zastavit sílící ekonomický úpadek a obnovit aktivní roli sovětské komunistické strany v každodenním životě Sovětského svazu.
This work focuses on the role of politician Mikhail Gorbachev in the last years of the existence of the Soviet Union, in order to analyze the extent to which the demise of this power was affected by his actions. The core of the work will be a period of about 6 years from Gorbachev's rise to the top Soviet position of power (March 1985) until his resignation as President of the Soviet Union (December 1991). The first part of the work will focus on the international and economic situation of the period, in the second part on Gorbachev's efforts to stop the growing economic decline and to restore the active role of the Soviet Communist Party in the daily life of the Soviet Union.
