The first part of diploma thesis includes definition of surface free energy, hydrophility and methods of its measurement, TiO2 structures and phases characteristics and description of the thin films depositions. In experimentally part, there is description of the apparatus for contact angle measurement and evaluation of the measurement by the Kaelble´s method. Results were evaluated in the dependence of the deposition parameters and properties of the TiO2 thin films.

First part includes an overwiev of plasma discharges, methods of plasma thin films deposition a properties of titanium dioxide films. In the experimental part I designed the device for large area thin films deposition, built it and optimized conditions for deposition of TiOx thin films. In the last part I evaluated properties of deposited thin films.

My task is to learn about the problems connected with atmospheric discharge and plasma deposition of thin layers. I need to suggest a device for deposition of thin layers in atmospheric discharge, where applying the thin layers of titanium oxide would take place and to evaluate surface morphology of the layers, fotocatalytic properties and thickness.

In the theoretical part were presented the most important tribological models and the basic form of its use. In a practical part were included descriptions of various results of construction devices, which are used to a friction tests, and construction project of similar device with its description. Moreover, the discussion of proposals obtained during designing device was carried.
