- ItemPhotocatalytic Activity of Nanostructured Titanium Dioxide Thin Films(Hindawi Publishing Corporation, 2012) Michalčík, Zdeněk; Horáková, Marta; Špatenka, Petr; Klementová, Šárka; Zlamal, Martin; Martin, NicolasThe aim of this paper is to investigate the properties and photocatalytic activity of nanostructured TiO2 layers. The glancing angle deposition method with DC sputtering at low temperature was applied for deposition of the layers with various columnar structures. The thin-film structure and surface morphology were analyzed by XRD, SEM, and AFM analyses. The photocatalytic activity of the films was determined by the rate constant of the decomposition of the Acid Orange 7. In dependence on the glancing angle deposition parameters, three types of columnar structures were obtained. The films feature anatase/rutile and/or amorphous structures depending on the film architecture and deposition method. All the films give the evidence of the photocatalytic activity, even those without proved anatase or rutile structure presence. The impact of columnar boundary in perspective of the photocatalytic activity of nanostructured TiO2 layers was discussed as the possible factor supporting the photocatalytic activity.
- ItemPlazmová úprava polymerních materiálů pro zlepšení povrchových vlastností při lepení(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2012) Janata, Michal; Horáková, MartaThe aim of this work is to improve the surface properties of polymers (PE, PP) by plasma surface treatment. The low pressure microwave plasma in a downstream configuration was used for surface treatment of polymers. The three types of material HDPE (high density polyethylene), UHMW-PE (ultra high molecular weight polyethylene) and PP (polypropylene) were examined. The change of surface properties were determined by the following measurements: measuring of surface energy by means of special test ink, droplets wetting angle measurement method and measuring of the strength of adhesion to the polymer adhesive by tensile test.

- ItemVyužití plazmových procesů v biologii a lékařství(Technická Univerzita v Liberci, 2012) Petráň, Aleš; Horáková, MartaThis thesis deals with the use of plasma discharges in a functionalization of nanofiber materials for their further use in medicine and also engaged in sterilizing the surface of nanofibers. The first part of the experiment is focused on the surface functionalization of nanofibres using microwave plasma discharge in order to later establish their drugs for controlled release. Verification of the establishment of functional groups was carried out ESCA analysis. In the second part of the experiment surface of nanofibers were sterilized from bacteria E. coli and S. aureus, again using microwave plasma discharge. Validation of sterilization of microorganisms was done according to the AATCC standards.
