    Industry clusters, as one of the tools of regional development policies, nowadays plays very important and irreplaceable role in economic growth of the cities, regions and countries where they are being located. Through coordinated co-operative activities and classical competitive behavior has the industry cluster strong impact on eliminating certain barriers of small and medium-sized entrepreneurship and cultivation of innovative tendencies and thus increase of competitiveness. This final thesis is divided into two main parts. The first part is more theoretical and its general purpose is to introduce the reader into relevant issues. On the other hand, the second part is more practically oriented and the main goal, which is to show the importance of industry clusters in Czech Republic and its strategies of regional development, lies within the scope of prepared analysis of Structural fund Industry and entrepreneurship - Industry clusters.

    Analýza poptávkového řízení ve vybrané firmě

    The aim of my thesis is to analyze and describe the quotation process. The thesis is also defining all the activities and tools involved in this process and used within the commercial and technical departments in the selected company of TRW Frýdlant. As a result of the above-mentioned process will be the price offer including the cost analysis, proposed selling price and the feasibility study. As an example to outline the complete procedure has been used a business case for the product of reman caliper from the customer Volvo Cars, Sweden. The price quotation is designed in the way to be completely or partially competitive. That means that in case there are more references or products involved, then at least some of them will draw customer´s attention so far and the customer will accept the price quotation.

    Approaches to sub-regionalization of territory: empirical study

    The article deals with the delimitation of sub-regional territorial units that can be categorized as functional regions. Sub-regions can be considered as small regional units, within which the inhabitants commute for basic services, especially to primary schools, basic health services and post office. Territorial conceptual units are a specific case of sub-regions that are used by the Liberec Region in the evaluation and the support of economically weak areas. These units are based on the administrative districts of registry, building and other offices, and on commuting to work. Delimiting sub-regions can be used for an assessment of regional disparities, since these regions are on the one hand compact enough as compared with the individual communities, but on the other hand they are not too large (as compared with administrative districts of municipalities with extended powers). In delimiting sub-regions, commuting to nodal centers, number of inhabitants and basic services play a major role. For a comprehensive assessment of regional disparities, the article also proposes a hierarchical classification of higher regional level (the micro-regional significance centers, regional importance and major regional centers). To determine these further levels, there was also investigated the occurrence of major employers and institutions of a secondary and a university education. The application and verification of the proposed methodological approach was carried out on the example of the Liberec Region.

    Comparative analysis of services branches in Neisse Euroregion

    Článek se zabývá odvětvovou strukturou v jednotlivých částech Euroregionu Nisa s akcentem na sektor služeb. Úvodní část článku poukazuje na rozdílnosti a úskalí komparace účelových či přirozených regionů, jejichž území není totožné s administrativními regiony. Ve druhé části článku byla zkoumána významnost jednotlivých ekonomických odvětví pomocí indexů specializace a koeficientů lokalizace. Z výsledků analýz vyplývá, že ve všech třech částech euroregionu zaměstnává nejvyšší podíl regionální pracovní síly terciární sektor. Odvětvová struktura v německé a polské části euroregionu je do značné míry podobná. Česká část se odlišuje významně vyšší zaměstnaností ve zpracovatelském průmyslu. Každá národní část euroregionu je zároveň specializována na určité specifické odvětví služeb.

    This of graduation thesis presents the general information on history and present of Protool a.s. The thesis covers the manufacturing program, sale organization and commercial strategy. It also analyzes material and information flows, especially with regard to internal logistics and its support within information systems environment. The main part of the thesis refers to a delivery capability as a necessary criterion of the company competitiveness.

    Evaluation of the Efficiency of Public Support for Cluster Organizations in the Czech Republic

    The research presented in the paper aims to find out whether the public support (subsidies) received by cluster organizations for their development and activities is efficient. That means whether the state receives a return on investment in the form of increased revenues to public budgets. The research was conducted on a sample of seven cluster organizations that include the following sectors: furniture, packaging and textile production, engineering, the automotive industry, IT and nanotechnology. For each cluster organization, the data on subsidies was drawn from the moment of their establishment until 2017. At the same time, a list of the cluster member organizations was drawn up, with financial data being collected only for business entities. For each enterprise, information about paid corporate income tax, income tax on employment from employee wages, and social and health insurance paid by the companies and their employees was collected. In the next phase, increases in taxes and insurances were monitored and compared to the year in which the cluster organization drew a subsidy for the first time. Subsequently, the public support efficiency rate and payback period were calculated. The research results show that public support for cluster organizations is efficient, with a relatively short payback period.

    This thesis deals with the evaluation and selection of suppliers in a production company. The BWS company was chosen for this purpose. The neccessary information was obtained during three years of employment and several consultations at this company. Some data was confidential and therefore had to be changed. The result could be distorted. The work presents several methods of supplier evaluation and selection. A concrete method of supplier evaluation and selection is presented for this company. Part of this work evaluates the most important suppliers with a description of the evaluation procedure. The suplpiers are real suppliers of the company. The end of this thesis presents a summary of the individuals suppliers, which was implemented on the basis of the author's proposed procedure.

    This graduation thesis deals with an evaluation of customers in a forwarding firm. It evaluates the clients in the forwarding company BOHEMIA CARGO s.r.o. The aim of the thesis is to assess the current situation and to propose a suitable solution of improvement including the analysis of the greatest patrons. The thesis is based on a theoretical principle of evaluation of customers according to the professional literature. The main purpose is the change in a forwarding business connected with the entrance to the European Union and the analysis of current patrons where particular process of evaluation has been explained. The practical part is focused on a determination of the best method of evaluation and its application to the great patrons. There are described mostly used methods and the stress is put on a general analysis of customers.

    Influence of clusters on the intensity of innovation outputs

    The article evaluates the impact of clusters on innovation outputs in the regions of the Czech Republic. The research was divided into four main phases. An overview of all institutionalised clusters in the Czech Republic, including innate clusters, was compiled in the first phase. Location quotients were used to identify innate clusters. For institutionalised clusters the main declared field specialisation, membership basis and cluster age were established. In the second phase, 5 most important branches were defined per each region by number of employees. Subsequently, the hypotheses that innovation characteristics of the regions depend on the number of clusters, their average age and the number of members were tested. Innovations were characterised by patent applications, utility models, total R&D expenditure and export of technology services. All values were examined as incremental for the period of 2009 to 2012 per one full-time researcher. None of the determined hypotheses were confirmed. There is no systematic dependence between the innovation outputs in the regions and clusters. The possible reasons for this fact are discussed in the article, such as the short time clusters have been operating in the CR, the impact of the economic crisis or underestimating the existence of innate clusters. In the last phase of the research, innovation outputs were evaluated for the branches with operating clusters in respective regions and compared with total innovations per branch in the CR. Two regions were selected to serve as an example. The analysis showed that innate noninstitutionalised clusters can also have a major impact on innovation outputs in regions.

    Kvantifikace složitosti dodavatelsko - odběratelských systémů

    The theme of this thesis is the quantification of the complexity of supplier-customer systems. The aim of this thesis is to analyze the operational complexity of supplier-customer system by using quantitative measurements in a manufacturing company. Introduction of the theoretical part explains the problem of supplier-customer relationships with the focus on purchase and inventory management. The second part deals with the problems of measurement complexity of supplier-customer systems based on entropy, where the emphasis is put mainly on complexity of the operating system. The practical part introduces a company which was chosen for this analysis, and describes the process of the analysis itself, the complexity of a particular supplier system such as data collection, database creation and subsequent image processing. Finally, possible methods of analysis in business are proposed and economic benefits of such proposed analysis are assessed.

    Nabídka expresních a balíkových služeb na českém trhu

    This diploma thesis deals with the analysis of the offer of the express and parcel services on the Czech market. The theme is actual considering the climactic globalization, in terms of firms are searching for a solution how to distribute their goods onto the international market. Express and parcel forwarders are finding their assertion in this way and the competition among them culminates in the offer of various individual products, which they fight for the custom with. The work is based on the theoretical principles with the definition of some influential characteristics of the logistics and the sector of the courier, express and parcel forwarders. After a short introduction of some representatives follows the evaluation of their services according to the selected criteria and a proposal of some potencial solutions for the expansion of the offer of the providers of the express services by the parcel services in order to gain the segment of the customers who demand the cheaper and therefore slower alternative of transportation.

    The Diploma Thesis entitled "Purchase of Spare Parts" provides an opportunity to look into the "backstage" of the area of spare parts purchase in a modern industrial corporation.The first part of the thesis is a collection of basic facts about the company, the Škoda spare parts and their purchase. The next part focuses on an analysis of the integration of spare parts purchase into the organizational structure as well as a description of spare parts purchase procedures. It also deals with the responsibilities of a spare parts purchaser and the system support for purchase.The aim of the Diploma Thesis is to analyse the present conditions and, first of all, to point out certain deficiencies in the examined area.In the end the thesis presents some recommendations that might contribute to the elimination of negative factors and positively influence the overall results in the area of spare part purchase.In addition, it refers to perspectives and goals of spare parts purchase for the future.

    Návrh opatření ke snížení regionálních disparit v Karlovarském kraji

    The theoretical part of the graduation theses is focused on the description of concepts in the area of statistical research. It describes the structure of the territorial zoning of the Czech Republic into the administrative units. It specifies the concept of the regional disparity, explaining why it is necessary to analyze it in detail and what kind of research projects the Ministry for Regional Development has created within this scope. The InoReDis project, which has been running at the Faculty of Economics of the TUL, is described more closely here. Further the methodology of regional disparity analysis created by the Czech Statistical Office is described and some its outputs are presented for the district of Karlovy Vary. One of the unfavourable key indicators has been selected out of this data. The evaluation of the city of Mariánské Lázně is following, where the selected indicator reached extremely negative value. The practical part consist of two sections. In the first one there is a project created for establishment of school with an alternative teaching direction. The project is conceived as a suggestion of part of the measure for mitigation of selected disparity. In the second section a MS Access database has been created. This database simplyfies very much the filing of particular municipalities{\crq} indicators and offers the possibility to compare any administrative units to each other.
