Abstract
Magický realismus je jako literární směr specifický kombinací realistických a magických prvků a hraje důležitou roli v hispanoamerické literatuře 20. století. Za otce magického realismu bývá považován kolumbijský spisovatel Gabriel García Márquez (1927-2014). Jeho román Sto roků samoty (Cien aňos de soledad, 1967) lze považovat za základní dílo magického realismu, diky němuž se tento literarní směr proslavil a obrátil pozornost světové kritiky k hispanoamerické literatuře. Cílem práce je analyzovat prvky magického realismu ve vybraném románu. Nejprve bude podrobně popsán samotný magický realismus, jeho vývoj a charakteristiky, poté bude následovat samotná analýza díla. Výsledkem bude popis jedinečnosti Márquezova stylu a specifik magického realismu.
Magical realism is a literary genre that consist in a specific combination of realistic and magical elements and plays an important role in 20th-century Hispanic American literature. Colombian writer Gabriel García Márquez (1927-2014) is considered the founder of magical realism. His novel One Hundred Years of Solitude (Cien anos de soledad, 1967) tends to be considered a fundamental work of magical realism, thanks to which this literary genre became famous and brought it to the attention of world critics to Hispano-American literature. The aim of the thesis is to analyze elements of magical realism in the selected novel. In the first part of the thesis magical realism, its development and characteristics will be described. In the second part of my thesis consists in the detailed analysis of the novel One hundred years of solitude. The final part of the thesis focuses on the description of the uniqueness of Gabriel Garcia Marquez's style and the specifics elements of magical realism he uses in this novel.
