dc.description.abstract	This diploma thesis deals with the characteristic, importance and development of the European Parliament. It also deals with the European elections, the structure and main powers of this directly elected European institution. Whereas the European Parliament is highly connected with the European Union, the thesis mentions also two basic perspectives of the European integration ? the Euro-scepticism and Euro-optimism. According to opinions of three Czech personalities, the thesis also analyses the crucial democratic deficiencies of the European parliament.	en
dc.description.abstract	Předkládaná diplomová práce se zabývá charakteristikou, významem a vývojem Evropského parlamentu, dále evropskými volbami, strukturou a hlavními pravomocemi této jediné přímo volené evropské instituce. Jelikož Evropský parlament nutně vnímáme v kontextu Evropské unie, práce uvádí i dva základní pohledy na evropskou integraci ? euroskepticimus a eurooptimismus. Prostřednictvím názorů tří českých osobností práce analyzuje i zásadní demokratické deficity Evropského parlamentu.	cs
