dc.description.abstract	V této bakalářské práci je kladeno za cíl zmapovat současný stav irské společnosti, jak je zachycen ve vybraných dílech současné irské beletrie, konkrétně ve dvou psychologických románech Sally Rooneyové - Konverzace s přáteli (2017) a Normlální lidi (2018). Rooney byla označena za "Salingera generace Snapchatu", zřejmě pro "její pronikavý vhled do křehkosti a rozporuplnosti mladých dospělých" (Donohue). Uvedené romány jsou považovány za texty, kter čtenářům nabízejí vhled do života tzv. mileniálů - generace, která je často paralyzována vlastním životem a uvězněna v čase, podobně jako postavy literárních děl Jamese Joyce, předchůdce Rooneyové. Úspěch těchto románů je často přičítán autorčině schopnosti propojit milostné vztahy hlavních postav se společenským kontextem, v němž se příběhy odehrávají (tedy s generační zkušeností dospívání poznamenaného následky socio-ekonomické krize, s níž se mladí Irové mohou ztotožnit). Tata domněnka bude v práci dále prověřena. V této bakalářské práci bude nejprve nastíněn literární kontext současného Irska, aby lze zasadit tvorbu Sally Rooneyové do širšího kontextu irské literatury. Následně bude provedena analýza socio-politických a kulturních prvků přítomných ve vybraných románech autorky. Dále budou představeny charakteristiky týkající se generace mileniálů, aby mohlo dojít k posouzení postav Sally ROoneyové. V další části bude analyzována dynamika vztahů mezi hlavními postavami (Marianne a COnnel, Frances a Nick) prostřednictvím teorie attachmentu. Cílem této práce he přispět k poznání současné irské literatury a zároveň provést analýzu výše zmíněných románů. Při zpracování bude využita kritická četba sekundární literatury (zaměřené na irskou literaturu, současnou irskou společnost a generaci mileniálů) a následná detailní analýza děl Sally Rooneyové.	cs
dc.description.abstract	The bachelor thesis seeks to document the current status quo of contemporary Irish society as documented in the selected works of Irish fiction, namely in the two psychological novels by Sally Rooney, Conversations with Friends (2017) and Normal People (2018). Rooney has been called "Sallinger for the Snapchat generation", most likely "for her laserlike focus on the frailties and foibles of young adults" (Donohue). In fact, the two novels have been claimed to have provided readers with an insight into the millennial generation, a generation of people who find themselves paralysed by their own lives, trapped in time, similarly to the characters of books by Rooney's literary predecessor, James Joyce. Success of the works has been claimed to lie in the way Rooney manages to intertwine the romance between the two main protagonists with the social context the works are set in (generational experience of growing up with the consequences of socio-economic crisis, which is something young Irish people can relate to), which is a claim the thesis will seek to examine. The thesis will briefly outline the literary context of contemporary Ireland to position Rooney among the fellow Irish writers. Assessment of Irish socio-political and cultural elements present in Rooney's selected novels will follow. Furthermore, the thesis will discuss characteristic features ascribed to millennials to assess Rooney's portrayal of this group's representatives. Subsequently, the thesis will analyze the relationships between the main characters (Marianne and Connel, Frances and Nick) through use of the attachment theory. The objective of this thesis is to contribute to mapping out the field of contemporary Irish literature and to analyse the aforementioned novels. It will proceed from a critical reading of secondary literature (on Irish writing, as well as on contemporary Irish society, and millennial generation) to a close reading of Rooney's novels.	en
