Abstract
Autor se v bakalářské práci zabývá problematikou první punské války. Práce je zaměřena především na námořnictvo a rozvoj námořní techniky, jakožto klíčové faktory, které zásadním způsobem ovlivnily průběh první punské války. Autor sleduje konflikt z pohledu, jak Říma, tak i Kartága a snaží se dokázat důležitost námořních bitev v rámci této války. V práci jsou popsány všechny významné námořní bitvy, jejich průběh, výsledky a dopad na další vývoj války. Práce také analyzuje příčiny a hodnotí důsledky tohoto prvního římsko-kartáginského konfliktu.
Author is dealing with the First Punic War in this bachelor's thesis. The thesis is focused on navy, warships and development of naval equipment. These key factors significantly affected process of the First Punic War. Author deals with the conflict from Rome's and Carthage's perspective and he tries to prove importance of naval battles in this war. All important naval battles of the First Punic War are described in the thesis. Author describes their progress, results and impact on further progression of the war. The thesis also analysis causes and consequences of this first Roman-Carthaginian conflict.
