Abstract
Práce se zaměřuje na znalost cizích slov u žáků 9. ročníku základních škol, konkrétně vychází z dat získaných dotazníkovým šetřením, které probíhalo na šesti školách. Byla komparována úspěšnost žáků, kteří se ve svém volném čase věnují četbě, s těmi, kteří mimo školu nečtou vůbec; porovnána byla i slovní zásoba chlapců a dívek. Závěrečná kapitola této diplomové práce se věnuje didaktickým metodám, které by měly zlepšit jazykovou úroveň nejen žáků v 9. ročníku, ale všech žáků druhého a třetího stupně.
The thesis focuses on the knowledge of foreign terms in the students of ninth grades of various Elementary schools. More specifically, it is based on the data gained from the surveys conducted on six different elementary schools. The success rate of the students who spend their free time reading and those who don't read outside of school at all was compared; additionally, the success rate of male and female students was also compared. The final chapter of the thesis focuses on the didacti methodology, which should improve the language level of not only the students of the ninth graade, but all students of the second and third level of education.
