Abstract
This diploma work deals with development of children´s self-confidence. In developing healthy image of own personality and sufficient abilities the important role is taken particularly by the family education and, to a significant degree, by the school. The issue of low self-confidence, feeling and complex of inferiority are also discussed. One chapter of the diploma work with methodology, techniques and motivation instruments which the family and school can use to build children´s self-confidence and this help them to get over their inferiority complex. The practical part provides comparison of the level of self-confidence of pupils in one school for handicapped/underprivileged children and two elementary schools in Prague. Data shows who of them more easily gets over the lower level of self-confidence. The text is accompanied by a number of diagrams.
