A Comparison of Financial Performance Based on Ratio Analysis

Abstract
Using ratio analysis as the main comparison technique, this diploma thesis aims to compare the financial performance of two prominent Indian IT companies Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS). The study, which covers the fiscal years 2022-2024, has been simplified up into theoretical and practical. The theoretical part covers the significance and methods of ratio analysis and presents important ideas concerning evaluating financial performance. Using important financial ratios such as profitability, liquidity, solvency, and efficiency indicators, the practical section uses that structure to measure and compare the performance of the business organizations. The balance sheets and profit and loss accounts of both businesses are analyzed horizontally as well as vertically. Based on the findings, the diploma thesis draws conclusions about the relative financial health of TCS and Infosys and provides recommendations for strategic improvement.
