Abstract
The bachelor's work deals with the area of the former SEBA textile factory in Liberec part "Jeřáb" behind the train station. The proposal of the new district is an alternative to the planned development project and the imminent demolition of the factory. Due to the location of the territory in relation to the urban division of the city, it emphasizes the variety of functions and the quality of public space as the center of the "second half of Liberec" and its connection with the surrounding urban structure, the local community and young people. The project also aims to apply thinking about degrowth architecture with regard to the reduction of newly emerging buildings and the maximum use of existing buildings and locally available material. In the context of the industrial past of the Liberec region and brownfields threatened with demolition, he would like to change the discourse of thinking about these objects and also highlight the qualities of their specific character, atmosphere and spirit.
