Abstract
Diplomová práce se zabývá specifiky života jedinců s kochleárním implantátem. Cílem práce je charakterizovat specifika života těchto osob a dále zjistit subjektivně vnímanou kvalitu jejich života. V teoretické části se autorka nejprve věnuje popisu stavby sluchového orgánu, jeho funkcí a základním pojmům z fyziologie sluchu. Dále se zabývá problematikou kochleární implantace a kochleárního implantátu jako takového a krátce představuje centra, která kochleární implantace provádějí v České republice. Tématem dalších kapitol je samotný proces kochleární implantace rozdělený do třech na sebe navazujících částí předoperační období zahájené výběrem vhodných kandidátů k implantaci, operace a pooperační období. Další kapitoly jsou zaměřeny na specifika jedinců se sluchovým postižením obecně a na vliv, jaký na tyto osoby má sluchové postižení. V závěrečných kapitolách teoretické části je pak popisován koncept kvality života, historie vývoje pohledů na kvalitu lidského života, vymezení tohoto pojmu a problematika jeho měření a také pojetí kvality života ve vztahu k osobám se zdravotním postižením. Empirická část práce má za cíl popsat specifika života osob s kochleárním implantátem a dále zjistit, jak subjektivně vnímají kvalitu svého života. Tyto informace autorka zjišťuje ve skupině uživatelů kochleárního implantátu prostřednictvím upravené české verze dotazníku SQUALA (Subjective Quality of Life, Dragomirecká a kol. 2006). Výzkumná data autorka dále získává díky osobním rozhovorům s několika uživateli kochleárního implantátu. Z výsledků dotazníkového šetření vyplynulo, že v některých dimenzích hodnotí postlingválně ohluchlí uživatelé KI svou kvalitu života jako nižší ve srovnání s prelingválně neslyšícími uživateli KI. Díky rozhovorům s uživateli KI se podařilo vymezit některá specifika jejich života. V závěru diplomové práce jsou navrhovány možnosti případného zlepšení kvality života těchto osob. Tato opatření vychází z výsledků výzkumného šetření.
The diploma thesis deals with the specifics of life of individuals with cochlear implant. The aim of the thesis is to characterize the specifics of the life of these individuals and to find out the subjectively perceived quality of their lives. In the theoretical part, the author firstly deals with the description of the structure of the auditory organ, its functions and with the basic terms from physiology of hearing. It also deals with the issue of cochlear implantation and cochlear implant as such and briefly presents the cochlear implant centers in the Czech Republic. The subject of other chapters is the cochlear implantation process divided into three consecutive parts the preoperative period starting by selecting suitable candidates for the implantation, then the surgery and the postoperative period. The next chapters are focused on the specifics of individuals with hearing impairment in general and on the impact the hearing impairment has on these people. The final chapters of the theoretical part describe the concept of quality of life, the history of the development of views on the quality of human life, the definition of this concept and the issues of its measurement, as well as the concept of quality of life in relation to individual with disabilities.The empirical part of the thesis aims to describe the specifics of life of CI-users and to find out how they personally perceive the quality of their lives subjectively. This information is found in the cochlear implant group by the modified Czech version of the SQUALA questionnaire (Subjective Quality of Life, Dragomirecka, Škoda 2006). The research data is further gained thanks to personal interviews with several users of a cochlear implant. The results of the questionnaire survey showed that in some dimensions, post-lingual deaf CI users rated their quality of life as lower compared to prelingual deaf CI users. Thanks to interviews with CI users, some of their specifics of life have been identified. In the conclusion of the diploma thesis there are proposed possibilities of potential improving the quality of life of these individuals. These measures are based on the results of the research.
