Abstract
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá významnou rolí Joea Hilla v organizaci Industrial Workers of the World (IWW), přičemž se zvláště zaměřuje na jeho přínos jako skladatele textů a básníka. Dělnický aktivista, Joe Hill, využil svého uměleckého talentu k inspirování ostatních dělníků a k vyjádření cílů a identity IWW na počátku 20. století. Jeho písně a básně, zahrnující píseň "The Tramp" a báseň "Last Will", sloužily jako mocné nástroje k sjednocování dělníků a vyjadřovaly podporu a solidaritu v rámci dělnického hnutí. Výzkum využívá historickou analýzu v kombinaci s detailním rozborem Hillových děl. Studie se dále věnuje širšímu kulturnímu dopadu Hillova odkazu prostřednictvím balady Alfreda Hayese "The Ballad of Joe Hill".

A labor activist, Joe Hill, used his artistic talents to inspire his fellow workers and express the goals and identity of the IWW during the early 20th century. His songs and poems, including "The Tramp" and "Last Will," were powerful tools for uniting workers and promoting solidarity within the labor movement. This study employs a historical analysis and close reading of Hill's works. Additionally, the study examines the broader cultural impact of Hill's legacy through Alfred Hayes' "The Ballad of Joe Hill."
