dc.description.abstractThis bachelor thesis deals with the death penalty and public opinion on the penalty. Violence in society is not falling, but on the contrary has rather a rising, and penalties for particularly serious crimes are not sufficient. Introductory theoretica part deals with the punishment in its essence, its purpose and functions. Furthermore, the history of the death penalty not only in the world but also in the Czech Republic is described. Subsequently, arguments of both advocates and opponents of capital punishment are given. The practical part presents the results of the survey, which was supposed to determine attitudes towards the death penalty. Finally, it was found that most respondents surveyed believe that the death penalty is warranted. They often cited the argument that there must always be a fair, equivalent retribution for serious crimes. For practical purposes, the author proposes mesures in the form of an awareness campaign throughout the society referring to negative aspects of the death penalty.en
dc.description.abstractBakalářská práce se zabývá trestem smrti a názory populace na tento trest. Násilí ve společnosti neklesá, spíše naopak, a tresty za zvlášť závažné trestné činy jsou nedostačující. Úvodní teoretická část je věnována trestu, jeho účelu a funkcím. Je popsána historie trestu smrti jak ve světě, tak i v České republice. Následně jsou uvedeny argumenty jak zastánců, tak i odpůrců trestu smrti. V praktické části jsu prezentovány výsledky provedeného dotazníkového šetření, které se zabývalo zjišťováním postojů respondentů k trestu smrti. Převažujcí většina dotázaných respondentů si myslí, že by trest smrti měl existovat. Jejich nejčastějším argumentem je princip rovnocenné odplaty. Pro praxi je navrhováno opatření formou celospolečenské osvěty a apelování na negativa trestu smrti.cs
