Abstract
Cílem práce je porovnat dějinné koncepce v díle Aurelia Augustina, zejména jeho spisu O obci Boží, a Jana Amose Komenského. Za tím účelem jsou popsány a využity i jiné relevantní způsoby vnímání času, starší i novověké. Po analýze obou koncepcí je vyhodnocena míra utopičnosti obou koncepcí, s využitím Mannheimovy definice utopického a ideologického myšlení, a v případě Jana Amose Komenského i míra vlivu jeho koncepce na současný diskurs o tématu dějinnosti.
The aim of this thesis is to compare and contrast the concepts of history as they are found in the works of Aurelius Augustinus, predominantly in his De civitatis Dei, and in the works of John Amos Comenius. To that purpose other relevant approaches to the issue of time are also employed, both ancient and modern. The analysis and comparison of both concepts is followed by an evaluation of the utopian and ideological nature of said concepts, which is achieved by using the definitions of utopian and ideological thinking proposed by Karl Mannheim. In case of John Amos Comenius an evaluation of the degree of influence of his concept of history on the contemporary academic discourse of history is added.
