dc.description.abstractA few years ago, a project to rejuvenate Prague's waterfronts was initiated, with a focus on softening the boundaries of the lower part of the Vltava River. Historically, these waterfronts functioned as transportation hubs, mooring areas, public baths, fishing, and fish markets. Nonetheless, these activities gradually vanished, especially after the great flood in 1890, when it was decided that Prague needed to be protected by a high embankment wall. Today, following the recent revitalization project, the area hosts a plethora of activities and events, including boat riding and farmers' markets. Additionally, there are cafes and restaurant services available, alongside ample public seating spaces. This revitalized area spans nearly four kilometers along Prague's three embankments: Rašín, Hořejší, and Dvořák. However, the upper part of the river embankment remains unchanged, making the division between citizens and the riverfront more apparent. In the coming years, the Planned Vltava philharmonic project will be realized, so the transformation of the embankment is certain to happen. However, the author found a big gap in terms of its connection with the neighboring untouched embankments that are fully and partially inaccessible riverfront. Therefore, this thesis aims to create a design that ensures the continuation of the Vltava River embankment development in a way that integrates within the green areas and provides access for citizens, as well as promotes a more harmonious coexistence in the area.cs
