Abstract
The aim of this project is to create a network management system using SNMP protocol. Furthermore, the graphs projecting with possibility of choosing a particular area for displaying is also taken in consideration. In the case of a device failure, the system generates information about it and sends a warning via both an E-mail and graphical emphasising in an overview part of the system. The project also describes a suitable implementation for monitoring wide networks, where smaller systems monitor their locality and information about actual status of network (that means distributed system). System should contain templates for individual devices, which describe certain type of device, what values are monitoring and what these values means. This system should be easily extended with possible modules, which can for example provide an automatic configuration of devices (e.g. based on type of device and location).
