Abstract
Tato bakalářská práce se věnuje analýze kostýmního designu v historickém seriálu Outlander, jenž vyniká kombinací dobové přesnosti a kreativního přístupu k vyprávění prostřednictvím oděvu. Cílem práce je prostřednictvím metod historického výzkumu - zejména analýzy, komparace, sondy a chronologického přístupu - posoudit míru historické přesnosti vybraných dámských, pánských a vojenských kostýmů z první a druhé série seriálu. Práce se zaměřuje na ztvárnění módy 40. let 20. století a 40. let 18. století ve Skotsku a Francii a porovnává filmové kostýmy s historickými předlohami, obrazovým materiálem a odbornou literaturou. Výsledky ukazují, že kostýmní tým v čele s Terry Dresbachovou se ve většině případů držel dobových reálií, přičemž v některých scénách záměrně upřednostnil dramatický účinek a věrnost literární předloze před přísnou historickou přesností. Práce tak přináší přehled o tom, jak mohou televizní produkce ovlivňovat divácké vnímání historie prostřednictvím módy a jak kostýmy přispívají k autenticitě i charakterové hloubce postav.
This bachelor thesis analyses costume design in the historical series The Outlander, which stands out for its combination of historical accuracy and creative approach to storytelling through clothing. The aim of the thesis is to assess the degree of historical accuracy of selected women's, men's and military costumes from the first and second seasons of the series through historical research methods, in particular analysis, comparison, survey and chronological approach. The thesis focuses on the depiction of fashion in the 1940s and 1740s in Scotland and France and compares the film costumes with historical models, visual material and specialist literature. The results show that the costume team, led by Terry Dresbach, adhered to period realities in most cases, while in some scenes deliberately prioritising dramatic effect and fidelity to the literary source over strict historical accuracy. The work thus provides an overview of how television productions can influence viewers' perception of history through fashion and how costumes contribute to the authenticity and character depth of the characters.
