Abstract
This bachelor thesis concerns the competitiveness of a selected engineering company in connection with the entry of a foreign investment into this company, ie the impact of foreign investment on the ability of the selected company to compete. The aim of this bachelor thesis is to assess the competitiveness of an engineering company before the entry of the foreign investor and its competitiveness after the entry of the foreign investor using the selected methods described in the theoretical parts of this paper: Spider analysis, Porter's model of five competitive forces and SWOT analysis. And then, based on the results, assess how foreign investment has affected the competitiveness of the company and whether or not it has been beneficial for the company. The results of the analyzes showed that after the entry of the foreign owner, some values of the company's financial indicators have improved. However, it still falls behind the industry, as the industry's benchmark is improving over time. One of the greatest benefits, which the analyzed company has been experiencing since the entry of the foreign investor, is the acquisition of security, new opportunities, and the transfer of responsibility and competence for business matters to the foreign owner. If the company implements the recommendation to introduce mandatory English language lessons for employees and thus works to improve the communication, which now lacks effectiveness due to the language barrier between the American and Czech sides, it can be expected that internal processes will improve.
