Abstract
Práce pojednává o problematice severoirského konfliktu, známého také jako The Troubles, z pohledu filmového průmyslu a filmů spojených s tímto tématem. Sleduje zejména práci filmů s historickým materiálem, úroveň věrnosti zachycení daných historických událostí, zda nedochází k překrucování historických faktů či pokřivení pohledu na jednu ze stran konfliktu za účelem propagandy. Zobrazuje-li více filmů jednu událost, filmy se dále kompraují mezi sebou.
This thesis deals with the conflict in Northern Ireland, which is also known as The Troubles, and with the ways how the conflict is portrayed in films about this period. It focuses on the way how the films deal with the historical topics, how it portrays the reality of the time and if the films distort the reality or portrayal of one of the sides of the conflict to push a political message to be used as propaganda. If the films chosen regard the same historical event, they are also compared to one another.
