Abstract
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá proměnou chápání volného času v předhistorické době, antické kultuře, středověku a novověku. Pokouší se popsat společenskou atmosféru jednotlivých údobí a postupné politicko-sociální proměny. V souvislosti s antickou kulturou rozvíjí percepci pojmů scholé a otium. Upozorňuje na vliv řehole svatého Benedikta a rozvoj školského systému ve středověku. Zabývá se vznikem kapitalismu v raném novověku a dělnickou otázkou, která představovala zlom v pojetí volného času do té doby vyhrazeného pouze některým společenským vrstvám. Pevná pracovní doba a určité sociální jistoty umožnily masám svobodně prožívat volný čas. V současnosti zažíváme komercionalizaci volného času, a jeho konzumaci bez nároku na osobnostní růst jedince. Tato skutečnost se stává výzvou pro společenskovědní obory, aby reflektovaly pozitivní zaměření trávení volného času.
The bachelor's thesis concentrates on the development of understanding of the leisure time activities in the prehistoric, ancient, medieval and modern times. It tries to describe the social atmosphere of each period and progressing political and social change. As for the ancient culture, it depicts the perception of the scholé and otium terms. It stresses the influence of the monastic rule of St. Benedict and the establishment of the school system in the middle ages. It notices the birth of capitalism in the early modern ages and the working class phenomenon, which brought a significant turn in the perception of the leisure time which had so far been exclusive only to some social classes. Fixed working hours and certain social welfare enabled the masses to exploit the leisure time without obstacles as well. Nowadays we experience the intrusion of commerce into one's spare time and its consumption with no demand of personal growth. This fact has become a challenge for the humanistic branches to reflect the positive orientation of the leisure time activities.
