Abstract
Diplomová práce se zabývá změnami, kterými prošlo město Semily v meziválečném období. Důraz je kladen na politický vývoj města a analýzu jednotlivých obecních voleb. Další část čtenáři představuje příčiny rozvoje a následné důsledky poklesu výroby průmyslových podniků. Ve stejné kapitole je kladen důraz na významné stavby, které byly ve sledovaném období realizovány. Není opomíjen ani společenský a kulturní život obyvatel. Detailně je rozebrána návštěva Semil T. G. Masarykem. Zmíněny jsou nejvýznamnější spolky, které na území města působily. Na závěr je uveden seznam členů městského zastupitelstva v letech 1918-1938. Celá práce je doplněna kvalitním obrazovým materiálem.
This diploma thesis deals with the changes of Semily city during the interwar period. Emphasis is placed on the political development of the city and analysis of municipal elections. The first part of the thesis depicts the cause of development and the consequences of the decline production of industrial enterprises. In the same chapter, the focus is put to important buildings that were realized in this period. In the second part, there is described social and cultural life of the people. There is also information about the visit of the city by the president T. G. Masaryk. In the thesis, there are mentioned the most important societies that operated in the city. At the end, there is a list of members of the council on the years 1918-1938. The work is complemented by high-quality imagery.
