Abstract
Existence univerzity v regionu může mít velký vliv na jeho rozvoj. V Libereckém kraji má významné postavení Technická univerzita v Liberci. Tato univerzita zajišťuje tři hlavní úlohy a to poskytování vzdělání, aktivity ve výzkumu a vývoji a ekonomickou činnost. Na základě těchto tří úloh má Technická univerzita možnost přispívat k rozvoji regionu. V práci je zmapována úloha Technické univerzity v Liberci v socio-ekonomickém rozvoji Libereckého kraje. Soustředí se především na přímý vliv univerzity. V práci jsou zkoumány čtyři oblasti, ve kterých má Technická univerzita vliv na Liberecký kraj. Těmito oblastmi jsou socio-ekonomické prostředí regionu, konkurenceschopnost regionu a inovace, uplatnění absolventů Technické univerzity na trhu práce a angažovanost univerzity ve společensky prospěšných iniciativách.
Existence of a university in the region can have a big impact on its development.The Technical University in Liberec has an important position in the Liberec region.This university has three main roles, the grant of education, activities in research and in development and economic activities. On the basis of these three roles the technical university has an opportunity to contribute to the development of the region. In the thesis there is mapped the role of the Technical University in Liberec in the socio-economic development of the Liberec region. It focuses mainly on the direct influence of the university. In the thesis there are investigated four areas in which the technical university has the influence on the Liberec region. These areas are the socio-economic environment of the region, the region's competitiveness and innovation, a job application of the graduates of the technical university on the labour market and the commitment of the university in socially beneficial initiatives.
