Abstract
The diploma thesis deals with the reconstruction of father and son Janotas' resistance activities. Karel Janota, who was born in Valdice, fought against fascism as part of the Defence of the Nation organisation and ended up in prison in Gräfentonn in 1943. His son, Karel Janota the younger, joined the domestic resistance against the communist regime and for his activities was convicted and sent to prison for fifteen years, from which he served most of his sentence in Leopoldov. After being released on amnesty in 1960, he again came under the radar of the secret police and stood before the court again, from which he received a sentence of one and a half years with imprisonment in Valdice. This entire topic is placed in the context of the historical events based on literature and archival materials.
