Abstract
Diplomová práce se pokouší zmapovat historii tělocvičné jednoty Sokol Slaný se zaměřením na roky 1936 až 1990, přičemž zpracovává i předchozí období, které položilo základy této organizace. Bádání si všímá propojení jednoty se životem města, obyčejnými starostmi jejích členů i občanů, jejím vlivem na chod obce a kulturní i umělecké dění. Jsou zde hodnoceny sportovní úspěchy, provozní záležitosti, stejně jako nelehké financování chodu Sokola. Práce vychází z dostupných publikací k této problematice, z dosud nezpracovaných pramenů a orální historie. Doplněna je fotografickým materiálem z archivu Sokola Slaný a osobních archivů pamětníků.
The thesis is trying to map the history of gymnastic unity Sokol Slaný with focus on years from 1936 to 1990. The previous period is being processed as well because it laid the foundation of this organization. Research notices the connection with town life, ordinary troubles of its members and citizens, its influence on the running of municipality and its cultural and artistic events. Sports achievements, operational matters are rated here as well as uneasy financial running of Sokol. This thesis is based on available publications to this issue, from untreated sources which have not been published and from oral history. The thesis is supplemented with photographic material from the archive of Sokol Slaný and personal archives of witnesses.
