dc.description.abstract	The topic of the thesis is consumer protection in the European Union and selected member states, namely the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The aim of this thesis is to introduce the historical development, regulation, types of consumer contracts, institutional support from national authorities and consumer organizations and the possibilities of resolving consumer disputes in the context of consumer protection. The thesis involves a comparison of this issue between the Czech Republic and the United Kingdom, in particular, there is shown that the United Kingdom is more advanced. The conclusion contains several case studies of consumer disputes resolved by the Financial Arbiter of the Czech Republic, the ombudsman for financial services in the UK and through a European Consumer Centres Network.	en
dc.description.abstract	Tématem diplomové práce je ochrana spotřebitele v Evropské unii a ve vybraných členských státech, konkrétně v České Republice a Spojeném království Velké Británie a Severního Irska. Cílem práce je představit historický vývoj, právní úpravu, druhy spotřebitelských smluv, institucionální zabezpečení státními orgány a spotřebitelskými organizacemi a možnosti řešení spotřebitelských sporů v rámci ochrany spotřebitele. V práci dochází ke komparaci této problematiky mezi Českou Republikou a Spojeným královstvím, především je zde ukázána vyspělost Spojeného království oproti České Republice. V závěru práce je uvedeno několik případových studií vyřešených spotřebitelských sporů pomocí finančního arbitra v České Republice, finančního ombudsmana ve Spojeném království a pomocí Sítě evropských spotřebitelských center.	cs
