dc.description.abstractIt has been more than 18 years since the economic transformation in the Czech Republic started. The country experienced discussions about the speed and ways of implementation of the transformation process, jump price liberalization, opening of foreign trade, restitution, small, big and especially coupon privatization. On the other hand, there was also a wave of so called "tunneling" of private and partly-state owned banks, secondary insolvencies and other problems. Some of these, e.g. bad law enforcement still remain. Based on historical experience, it seems that the initial part of economic reforms has strong public support and major part of population is ready to sacrifice for the future increase of living standard. This public support however decreases in time and the previous enthusiasm for reforming turns into resistance. If the reforms are not fast moving, it is rather difficult to implement them at all later. There are few countries like Slovakia or Estonia which, in comparison with the Czech Republic, completed deep reforms with success. The thesis tries to evaluate Czech economic development, to compare it with neighbour countries and analyze some issues of the Czech economy.en
dc.description.abstractOd začátku ekonomické transformace České republiky uplynulo již více než 18 let. Země zažila počáteční boj o rychlost a pojetí transformace, skokovou liberalizaci cen, otevření zahraničního obchodu, restituce, malou, velkou a hlavně kupónovou privatizaci. Na straně druhé ale také vlnu tunelování soukromých i polostátních bank, druhotnou platební neschopnost a další problémy, z nich řada jako například špatná vymahatelnost práva přetrvává dodnes. Na základě historických zkušeností víme, že na počátku reformního období mívá vláda silnou podporu pro reformy a velká část obyvatel je ochotna obětovat se pro budoucí zvýšení životní úrovně. Veřejná podpora však časem klesá, opadá nebo se nadšení pro reformy dokonce obrátí v nenávist. Pokud se neudělají reformy hned a poměrně rychle, je velmi těžké je vůbec prosadit a uskutečnit. Existuje několik málo zemí jako je Slovensko nebo Estonsko, které zašly v reformách i dále než Česká republika a to nikoliv bez úspěchu. Tento text se snaží s tímto snad dostatečně dlouhým časovým odstupem tento vývoj ohodnotit, porovnat s nejbližšími sousedy a zamyslet se nad aktuálním stavem hospodářství.cs
