Abstract
Závěrečná práce analyzuje Umělé dýchání (Respiración artificial, 1980), jedinečné dílo, díky němuž se Ricardo Piglia proslavil. Práce se zaměřuje na rozbor takových charakteristik, které by bylo možné označit jako postmoderní a/nebo jako rysy nového historického románu. Také se diskutuje možnost využít Umělé dýchání pro tvorbu materiálů k výuce španělštiny jako cizího jazyka. Nejprve se zkoumá postmoderní éra a zejména její odraz v literatuře. Práce se také věnuje konceptu Seymoura Mentona, novému historickému románu, který je často diskutovan jak v souvislosti s Umělým dýcháním, tak ve vztahu s postmodernismem obecně. Následně je věnována pozornost postmoderním prvkům života Ricarda Piglii a vybrané dílo je zasazeno do historického kontextu. Významná část práce se soustředí na zkoumání postmoderních charakteristik Umělého dýchání. Tato část je založena zejména na porovnávání vlastního pozorování s myšlenkami literárních kritiků. Nakonec se zvažuje možné užití díla v hodinách španělštiny jakožto cizího jazyka, přičemž součástí je i několik vzorových aktivit.
The thesis analyzes Artificial Respiration (Respiración artificial, 1980), an original piece of literature thanks to which Ricardo Piglia became famous. The work focuses on analyzing such characteristics that could be considered postmodern/postmodernist and/or of the New Historical Novel. In addition, there is a brief discussion of the possibility of using Artificial Respiration in teaching Spanish as a foreign language. Firstly, the thesis studies the postmodern period, particularly its manifestation in literature. The paper also examines Seymour Menton's concept of the New Historical Novel, which is, actually, frequently commented on in relation to Artificial Respiration and postmodernism in general. Secondly, the work searches for postmodern elements that could possibly be present in Ricardo Piglia's life, and the novel is put into the historical context. Thirdly, comparing observations based on reading with literary critics' conclusions, the thesis examines the postmodernist features and the characteristics of the New Historical Novel that can be found in Artificial Respiration. Finally, the possible use of Artificial Respiration in the class of Spanish as a foreign language is discussed, and several example activities are provided.
