Abstract
Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá porovnáním dvou děl od britské autorky Charlotte Brontëové, Jany Eyrové a Villette. Konkrétně se práce zaměřuje na porovnání dvou hlavních postav, Jany Eyrové a Lucy Snoweové, a toho, jak na ně psychologicky působí ostatní postavy a to, co v životě zažívají. Psychologické porovnání je zpracováno pomocí Freudovy teorie o dělení psychiky na id, ego a superego. Původním záměrem bakalářské práce bylo ukázat, nakolik jsou obě hrdinky stejné. Předpokládalo se, že autorka své hrdinky nepodrobila žádným výrazným změnám a obě hlavní postavy se tedy podobají, i když jsou z jiných děl. Avšak po důkladné analýze vyplynulo, že se postavy liší, jak v psychologickém vývoji, tak v tom, jak na ně působí postavy kolem nich. Toto odlišení se ukázalo konkrétně na tom, jak hrdinky reagují na své okolí a na to, co v životě zažijí. Původní předpoklad o tom, že autorka své postavy nijak neměnila, byl tedy vyvrácen.
This bachelor's thesis focuses on the comparison of two books by a British author Charlotte Brontë, Jane Eyre and Villette. The particular focus is on comparing the two main heroines, Jane Eyre and Lucy Snowe, and on the way other characters and the heroines' life events psychologically influence them. The psychological comparison is done using Freud's theory on the division of the psyche into id, ego, and superego. Originally, the aim of this thesis was to show to what extent both heroines are similar. This idea was based on the assumption that the author did not subject her heroines to any major changes, and therefore, both main characters are similar, despite being in different works. However, after a thorough analysis, it was evident that Jane Eyre and Lucy Snowe are different, not only regarding their psychological development, but also in the way that other characters influence them. These differences can be seen, for example, in the way that the heroines react to their surroundings and the events in their lives. The original assumption that the author did not change her characters in any way was, therefore, disproven.
