Abstract
Základním cílem práce je zmapovat svět ropy a vytvořit tak ucelený přehled provázanosti jednotlivých sfér ropného průmyslu, společně s jejich dopadem na život obyvatel celé Země. Hlavní pozornost je věnována současným nalezištím ropy a jejímu následnému zpracování. Součástí práce je i rozhovor s Dominezem Burnettem, který popisuje nástrahy života pro obyvatele amerického města Flint, jež bylo negativně ovlivněno zvýšenými cenami ropy.
The aim of this thesis is to map the world of oil and thus create a thorough overview of all the different spheres of the petroleum industry, including its impact on the inhabitants of planet Earth. The main focus is put on the current oil reserves and the processing of oil that follows. An interview with Dominez Burnett, a former resident of the city of Flint (USA), is a part of the thesis. In the interview he describes the pitfalls of living in a once industrial city that was negatively affected by rising oil prices.
