Abstract
This diploma thesis is focused on a particular problem of the 21st century, which is water scarcity in the world and its potential of causing a military conflict. The theoretical portion of the thesis focuses on the factors influencing the potential of a conflict of water sources and is further based on the theory by Thomas Homer-Dixon and Peter Gleick. An analysis has been conducted in specific cases about the causes of geopolitical tensions between chosen regions. The chapter dedicated to Israel presents this country as a world leader in the management of water supplies. Israel can serve as an example that even a country with unfavorable geopolitical conditions that has historically had critically low water supply can become an inspiration for the whole world through the integration of new advancements, innovation, modern technology and mainly through the approach to water itself. The practical portion of the thesis is mainly focused on implementing this topic into the school curriculum of chosen grades of school through a handful of activities.
