Abstract
Tato bakalářská práce se bude zabývat rozborem pikareskního románu a jeho základních rysů v souvislosti s dílem Život Lazarilla z Tormesu, jeho příhody a nehody a knihy autora Charlese Dickense, Oliver Twist. První část bude charakterizovat období španělské renesance a anglického realismu. V souvislosti s anglickým realismem se bude tento text zaobírat popisem autora Charlese Dickense a hlavními tématy jeho děl. V neposlední řadě bude v práci analyzován charakter hrdinů Lazarilla a Olivera Twista, ve spojení se základními rysy postavy typického pícara.
This bachelor thesis focuses on the analysis of a picaresque novel and its fundamental characteristics in connection with the novel La vida de Lazarillo de Tormes y de sus fortunas y adversidades and the novel by Charles Dickens, Oliver Twist. The theoretical part deals with the description of the era of the Realism in English literature and the era of the literature in Spanish Renaissance. In terms of English Realism, the text defines the life of Charles Dickens and the main topics of his literary works. The practical part occupies with the analysis of the main characters Lazarillo de Tormes and Oliver Twist, regarding the attributes of the typical pícaro. The aim of the last part is to verify if Oliver has the features that coincides with the character of picaresque novel and thus could be considered pícaro.
