Abstract
Návrh Štátnej vedeckej knižnice v Prešove vychádza zo zadania verejnej súťaže z roku 2006. Lokalitu a pozemok som si pozmenil podľa vlastného uváženia. Najvýhodnejšou alternatívou bola pre mňa voľná parcela na mieste bývalých hradieb mestského opevnenia. Doplnením zástavby tak vzniká ucelený polprstenec okolo historického jadra mesta, ktorý je lemovaný stromoradím. Na tomto mieste navrhujem dlhú hmotu, ktorá zvýrazňuje túto líniu. Ide o dôstojnú verejne-vedeckú budovu s menšími príjemnými detailami na oživenie verejného priestoru pred knižnicou. V návrhu počítam s upravením a zakomponovaním záhrady umenia do tohto celku, ktorá leží pod hradbami, na ktorých sa knižnica nachádza.
Design of the State scientific library in Prešov is based on the architectonic competition in 2006. I have only change the location. It is situated on the border between historical city center and surrounding. The library will complete the last free space on this ring. The concept of library is make a serious scientific longitudinal building with small details around. With a garden there will be a nice space for young people and a new city park for all citizens.
