Abstract
Teoretická část práce si klade za cíl stručně shrnout poslání zoologických zahrad v kontextu změn přístupu k ochraně vzácných druhů zvířat, zachování biodiverzity i k samotnému chovu zvířat v lidské péči, vyzdvihnout důležitost a smysluplnost pojmu welfare v kontextu s edukační funkcí zoologických zahrad.
Praktická část se pak zaměřuje konkrétně na návrh možností prezentace vybraných skrytě žijících druhů zvířat v Zoo Liberec, přičemž skrytě žijícími zvířaty se rozumí takové druhy, které běžnému návštěvníkovi zoo zůstávají z různých důvodů "skryté", přestože jsou chovány expozičně.
The theoretical part of the thesis aims to briefly summarize the mission of zoos in the context of changes in the approach to the protection of rare animal species, biodiversity conservation and the actual breeding of animals in human care, to highlight the importance and meaningfulness of the concept of welfare in the context of the educational function of zoos. The practical part focuses specifically on the proposal of possibilities for the presentation of selected hidden animal species in Zoo Liberec, where hidden animals are those species that remain "hidden" to the ordinary zoo visitor for various reasons, although they are kept in the exhibition.
