Abstract
Práce je biografií akademického malíře Jana Novotného (1929 2005), sklářského výtvarníka, narozeného v Pusté Polomi, studoval u profesora Josefa Kaplického na VŠUP v Praze. Na SUPŠS v Železném Brodě působil od roku 1957 do roku 1992. Vytvářel malované, leptané, hutně tvarované sklo, zabýval se kresbou, grafikou a malbou. Díla Jana Novotného jsou umístěna v několika českých muzeích a galeriích, ve dvou zahraničních galeriích a v soukromých sbírkách. Jan Novotný byl jedním z výtvarníků, který byl postižen v době normalizace.
This work is a bigraphy of the academic painter Jan Novotný (1929 2005), glass artist, who was born in Pustá Polom. He studied at professor Josef Kaplický at VŠUP in Prague. He worked on SUPŠS in Železný Brod from 1957 to 1992. He created painted, etched, metallurgical molded glass. He engaged in graphic art and painting. His works are placed in several Czech museums and galleries, in two foreign galleries and private collections. Jan Novotny was one of the artists who were affected during the period of normalization.
