Abstract
This article specifically focuses on the prediction of thread crimp suitable for all types of dobby woven fabric constructions. Herein, warp and weft crimp prediction was performed using mathematical formulations based on the geometric characteristics of the woven fabric structure. Prediction was designed to react to the influence of all input parameters of the woven fabric construction. The theoretical, predicted values of weft and warp threads crimp were compared with experimentally obtained values for accurate size measurement of the thread crimp and were found to be reasonably consistent.
