From 1957, he served as the chief of the main administration of military courts and the deputy of the Minister of Justice. In the spring of 1968, he was relieved of his duties because, from the position of the fi rst deputy of the Minister of Justice, he obstructed judicial rehabilitation, and even in 1967, he also tried to infl uence court decisions. Already in October of the same year, he was nevertheless appointed administrator of the military district in Mimoň and, from February 1969, also of the military district of Mladá. In February 1970, he became the chairman of the District National Committee in Liberec. However, in the spring of 1970, the leading authorities of the Communist Party discovered that, before his dismissal from offi ce in 1968, he had recorded an interview with the editors of the Czechoslovak Radio about the issues of judicial independence and the deforming 1950s, in which he was supposed to defame the Communist Party and some of its offi cials. At the same time, he handed over secret documents to the editors. This was followed by his removal from the position of chairman of the district national committee and expulsion from the Communist Party. After 1989, he tried unsuccessfully to rehabilitate himself.
